Affirmations for balance and hope


After months or years of disappointment, many of us have negative thoughts such as “I’ll never fall pregnant” running like an endless loop through our minds. These thoughts are destructive to our wellbeing, contributing to feelings of sadness, hopelessness and worthlessness.  Affirmations help us to reframe this negative self-talk into something more positive and supportive. 

People use affirmations in different ways. Some people select one affirmation that resonates with them strongly and use it as a type of mantra, repeating it multiple times throughout the day, over multiple days. An affirmation used this way can be a consistent, reassuring guiding light on your journey.

Others might work with multiple affirmations. One exercise is to write your favourite affirmations on slips of paper and select them like fortune cookies when you feel the need.  For each selection, repeat the affirmation multiple times until you connect with the words. Some look in the mirror while doing this to experience a deep connection with their inner selves.
