Series of exercises

Exercise 1: Lie on your back and place knees over a pillow. Breathe deeply for a few minutes until you feel relaxed.  Bring both hands together in an inverse curved cup with index fingers lined up along their length and thumbs tucked under your palms. With your index fingers, locate the slight indent at the top of the pubic bone, almost a hand’s length down from your naval.  With all fingers together, dig into the soft tissue and drag off the pubis, pulling up toward the naval at least half way.  You should be able to feel your uterus. Repeat for three strokes in centre and three strokes on the right and then left from just inside the inguinal ligaments. Do this for 30 strokes in total. Pressure should be firm but not painful. Begin each stroke during an exhalation to increase available depth of massage.

To minimise uncomfortable skin grabbing, place a sheet or clothing between your hands and body.

Exercise 2: Lightly stroke in circles from thighs to chest five times. Lubricate abdomen lightly with oil or lotion. With fingers again aligned as above, press into abdomen from between lower ribs and drag towards the naval, three times in centre and three times from each side until completing 30 strokes. Zigzag from between lower ribs and belly button.

Exercise 3: Massage with deep circles around belly button 6 times in clockwise direction (up on right, across and down on left).
